Training & Education
Harm Reduction 101
Queen City Harm Reduction (QCHR) is available to train any organization or entity from community-based clinics to educational institutions to public service officials on the basics of harm reduction and how to implement its principles in the workplace and beyond.
Safe Disposal
This training encompasses information on infectious disease, safe handling of sharps, best practices with biohazards, and more.
Overdose Response and Recognition
This training is one that is conducted with everyone accessing naloxone for the first time from QCHR, and expanded presentations covering more nuanced components of overdose response, including knowing your legal protections, and are available to all.
Stigma and Language
The language we use affects how we see the people around us, and the goal of this training is to engage with our own biases and understand how to overcome them to communicate more effectively.
The War on Drugs and Cultural Competency
With how pervasive the War on Drugs continues to be, it is important to be educated on the impact it's had and to address how we work with people who use drugs in its wake. This training covers all of this and more.
Proper Wound and Vein Care
Caring for veins is critical for health in people engaging in drug use, and understanding how to manage wound care prevents the impacts of infection and unintentional injury.
